Artificial Grass Costs Loughborough
Fake Grass Cost
As a consumer you can be thoroughly confused by the number and range of artificial grasses now available and as a result can wonder where to start and why there is such a spread when it comes to fake grass costs.
As artificial turf has grown in popularity in the UK more house hold are arranging to replace their garden lawns with a fake grass alternative but as with most home or garden renovations there can be a vast array of trades people and DIYers who will think they know best or can do the job better themselves whilst saving money at the same time. Unfortunately many people don't think about about price and cost as being different and how broad the definition of each can be. We'll be straight up at this stage and say that if you are looking to get the cheapest artificial grass possible to simply place on top of something and keep in place with a few slabs then our artificial grasses are not for you.
Similarly if you are wanting someone to supply and fit you the cheapest possible options then again, unfortunately we're not the artificial grass company for you.
Artificial Grass Installation Cost
At Artificial Grass Loughborough our focus is on providing the quality. This is both in terms of the quality of the synthetic turfs we use and the quality of our installation and, as a result the cost of our artificial grasses and installations will reflect this. We don't want to be able to offer our guarantees on some jobs and not on others so we made the decision to focus on quality above price to maintain our reputation.
Whilst most people will assume that the biggest cost associated with artificial grass is the cost of the grass itself this is true to a large degree and will be one of the most obvious ways to compare cost differences from the same installer. With prices ranging from as low as £10 per meter square to over £40 per meter square from one synthetic grass to another it is easy to think of either going really cheap to save on total costs especially if you have a large area to cover.
However, the artificial turn of not the only consideration when it comes to the cost of a full artificial lawn installation. There is the sub-base and associate materials of sands and aggregates. The weed membrane, fixing frame, edging and the fixing themselves such as jointing tape and adhesives. And let's not forget the labour!
All these individual items can vary in price and savings can potentially be across all of these areas but at what cost? You can 'cheapen' an installation by reducing the sub-base depth to save on labour and materials, however you are more likely to see water pools and have draining issues with your new artificial lawn. With poor fixings your synthetic turf can start to come away from the frames and edges and joints can also come up if they have been pinned rather than jointed. Then there is the grass itself - cheap options are unlikely to carry a guarantee of more than a couple of years and they will be subject to fading and heating in hot weather. All these factors can impact the enjoyment of your artificial lawn but also reduce the time before you will need to think about replacement - which would mean more costs.
Quality pays for itself over time not just in total cost terms but also in reducing hassle, disappointment and frustration which an ill-fitted artificial grass lawn can bring.
Artificial Grass Cost versus Real Grass
Since deciding to change to an artificial grass lawn will be a reasonable expense it is normally considered when you know you will be staying in your property for a number of years - and this makes perfect sense. So when looking at comparing an artificial grass cost versus real grass it should be done over a similar period of time.
As our artificial grass installations are guaranteed for 10 years this is a nice simple number to use to compare costs, even tough your artificial lawn is likely to last a good few more years after that.
So thinking about what you current spend on your lawn each year this will need to be multiplied 10 fold to get an understanding of what you have been spending on lawn maintenance. Clearly this will vary form household to household as every family will have varying levels of time, money and views on how their lawn should be kept.
For this households who employ the services of external lawn care companies the payback period for artificial grass will be quite quick. For those who do it themselves the costs of water, weed killers, patch replacement, scarifying will need to be taken into account but the one other aspect which shouldn't be forgotten is your costs in labour time. Even if you apply the national minimum wage to the time you spend in total each year on lawn maintenance, which let's face it is the least rewarding aspect of gardening, your annual lawn care cost will really mount up. And even then you may still not have a great looking lawn - especially in the autumn and winter months after all that effort!
Hopefully we've provided some food for though regarding the true costs of artificial grass compares to real grass.
Cost of Astro Turf
When looking at the cost of astro turf this is simply and inter changeable name for artificial grass but has generally become the default term when referring to sports or playground usage. Typically and artificial turf pitch will look less like real grass as they will be much shorter than a typical lawn. The exception to this will be our 4G astroturf for football, which is extremely natural both in look and in terms of playing.
There really isn't a way of providing guide costs until a survey has been conducted as the existing surface and ground needs to be looked at. What sport use, grass and shock absorbing underlays may be required and what storage and access will there be to the area for equipment and materials?
One important differentiation we have at Artificial Grass Loughborough is that we have an exceptional lease plan, which is a great way of managing monthly costs of your astroturf pitch whilst bringing in revenue at the same time. When considering costs it is also worth understanding that our 4G astro turf does not require an in-fill. 3G astroturf will require intermittent top ups of either sand or a rubber crumb. If you have played on these surfaces you will know how these bits get everywhere when taking of trainers and socks. Removing the downtime for infills, the costs of materials and labour for infills and cleaning up changing rooms of the infill are additional soft cost savings which our 4G astroturf can provide. Please get in touch with us to find out more or to arrange a survey.
